How To Chip Consistently With Simple Technique

How To Chip Consistently With Simple Technique

Hey there, Tiff, The Lady Golf Teacher, long time no see. I haven’t recorded a video for quite some time, but we’re back in action.

Today we are going to be looking at a way in which you can get more consistent with your chip shots. Don’t go anywhere, this is going to be absolutely essential that you watch this video.

Well, welcome to today’s tip, what we are going to be working on is a way in which you can get more consistency with your chip shot. What I see a lot of when people come to have lessons with me is a lot of flicking around when they are actually doing a chip shot. That’s a big problem, it is what causes the inconsistency. We feel that we have lift the ball up in some way to try to get the ball down to the hole. We don’t have to do that at all.

What I’m going to show you is something that you want to make sure you are practicing for the rest of your golf. However long you play golf, you want to be practicing this one. So, something very, very simple that I want you to be thinking about, if you are a right-handed golfer this will refer to your left arm. If you are a left-handed golfer this will refer to your right arm.

What I want you to be thinking about when you play your shot is to make sure you are keeping the left arm nice and straight through the chip shot. Because if we keep the left arm nice and straight through the chip shot, then we keep the club face nice and straight through the chip shot which then means the ball goes where we want it to go.

That sounds pretty simple doesn’t it?

Yes right, you can do that.

What I want you to be focusing on is that when you come to do a chip shot, especially when you are practicing it, is to work on keeping your left arm nice and straight through the ball. It’s just something as simple as that. So when you set up, I don’t want you to be aiming at the hole or anything when you come and do this, just practice swinging back and through, hold, and work on keeping your left arm nice and straight.

You don’t have to hit the ball away too far, just let it trickle forward because the big thing is making sure the left arm is nice and straight through the ball, so that we are starting to create some consistency.

We don’t have to hit the ball very far, like I said, we are not trying to get rid of the ball, we are just working on developing that feeling of keeping the left arm nice and straight.

Nice and simple, hope you enjoyed today’s tip.
